Bio/CV: 

Professor Emerita Fiona Doyle obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cambridge, and her master’s and doctorate in hydrometallurgy from Imperial College, University of London. She joined the faculty at U.C. Berkeley in 1983 and was appointed to the Donald H. McLaughlin Chair in Mineral Engineering in 1998.  She served as Chair of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering from 2002 to 2005, and Executive Associate Dean of the College of Engineering at Berkeley from 2005 to 2009 and 2011 to 2014.  From 2009 to 2011 Doyle was Vice Chair and Chair of the Berkeley Division of the Academic Senate.  She was the program leader of the Singapore Berkeley Research Initiative on Sustainable Energy from 2013 to 2015.  Doyle served as Vice Provost for Graduate Studies and Dean of the Graduate Division from 2015 to 2019.  

Professor Doyle is a member of the Academy Senate Committee on Faculty Awards and serves on student exam committees. She is also a Special Advisor to the Dean of Engineering at Cal on Academic Matters. 

Research interests: 

I'm engaged with the College of Engineering on a partial recall basis, and the Senate (as a committee member), but I'm also interested in mentoring students. 
I was the Vice Provost for Graduate Studies before retiring, and also the undergraduate dean in engineering before that.
