I have been thinking for a number of years about how to improve critical infrastructure safety. This issue requires interdisciplinary research into technical designs; organizational behavior and safety management, regulatory capacities as well as the social psychology of safety and risk. Academy members, if interested, would be a great resource of interdisciplinary perspectives on this problem.
