Research interests:
I work at the intersection of technology, intellectual property, and international politics -- the global political economy of technology. I am actively continuing this work in retirement as a strategic advisor to a number of large firms and key US and foreign policy institutions. One of my primary roles in that work is to serve as a channel for academic research to better inform corporate strategy and government policy making; and to channel the questions and needs of decision makers back to the research community if it can inform their work.
