Sigrid Mueller, UC Berkeley Emeriti Academy Program Manager
Sigrid has developed and managed academic and educational programs for more than twenty-five years – at Stanford, at Save The Bay, and at other universities and Bay Area non-profits. Immediately prior to her current position, she was a program director in the Education Department at UCB Extension.
Sigrid earned an M.A. in German Literature from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language from UCB Extension.
She serves on the Executive Board of Las Casas—a volunteer-based non-profit that provides English language classes to low-income adults in Oakland. And, since 2004, has sung with the California Bach Society choir. Sigrid can be reached at emeritiacademy@berkeley.edu.
Cary Sweeney, UC Berkeley Retirement Center Director
Cary holds a Master's of Gerontology from Virginia Commonwealth University and has 20+ years of experience in developing and managing programs in geriatrics and gerontology aimed at improving the well-being of older adults. Prior to joining the Retirement Center in 2014, Cary served at UC San Francisco as Project Director of the Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence, and Program Manager of the NorCal Geriatric Education Center, Division of Geriatrics, School of Medicine.
